Your Class and You
When you make your character you have to make a class for your character. Your class will play a large role in how you level up. For starters, the seven skills you choose for your class will be the skills you must raise in order to level up (as explained below). These skills are also the only ones that you are able to raise beyond the Apprentice level, and in fact they start at the Apprentice level. All other skills are considered minor and cannot be raised past the Apprentice level.
Leveling Up Your Skills
As mentioned, you must raise up your skills to raise up your level. In order to raise your skills you must simply use them within a thread. At the end of the thread, a moderator will award all characters involved an increase of up to 3 points in a skill if they feel that a character has shown they deserve a raise in skill or skills. Once 10 points have been awarded to a character in any of his or her seven skills, they may raise a level (process explained below). The higher the level the more is demanded of a character to gain points in skills.
Skills also have their own separate levels that are divided into five separate classes of:
-Novice: Lv.1-Lv.25
-Apprentice: Lv.25-Lv.50
-Expert: Lv.50-Lv.75
-Journeyman: Lv.75-Lv.99
-Master: Lv.100
Outside of the Schools of Magic these categories play little role, though the higher the level the better your character is at their skill.
Leveling Up Your Character
Once you have gained 10 points in your major skills you may raise your level by one. When this is done, you can increase your stats based on the skills that were raised. Strength, Stamina, Intelligence, Agility, and Personality all have skills that are under their jurisdiction. When it comes to raise your level you can raise them up more than one point based on this formula.
# of Skills/2= Number raised (rounded if needed).
Now, to explain this here is an example. Let's say if all your skill points were given in skills that were under the jurisdiction of Strength. That means you have 10 Skills (# of Skills), so you divide it to get 5. Therefore, you can raise Strength by 5 that level. It's that simple.
Piece of Advice
I will admit this system requires a lot of keeping track of numbers. In order to smooth things along I suggest you do the following. When you gain a skill point in a thread, instead of just replacing the number in your profile, put it separate in parentheses like this:
Elemental-Lv 25 (+1).
Keep it like that till it is time to gain a level so you have quick and easy access to what you gained during your current level.
