(Time is 9:00 AM) Valgoth arrived in the Claudian District. He was searching for the man named Cato. After looking around for a bit, he decided his normal methods would be ineffective. There were too few people and too many guards. This would also limit his ability to eavesdrop. He had to think of how to conduct an investigation in these conditions. While he was doing this, he was walking around the district to familiarize himself with his surroundings.
He finally came to the conclusion that he needed to directly ask a guard or some other person. He approached a guard. "Excuse me sir, I'm looking for a man named Cato. He sent for me, by letter. He wanted to meet me at his house at a specific time. Of course I arrived a day early to find out where he lived, so I wouldn't be late tomorrow. Could you point me in the right direction?"

The guard eyed the man suspiciously. Most people did not walk around this part of time in white robes and armor. Furthermore, he had never seen the man before in any of these parts. It was suspicious, to say the least.
"Well sir, I am not familiar with Cato. I would believe he would have mentioned his address in the letter. And while I would like to help you, you must understand this area is home to many affluent persons. We can not give away addresses without some proof of intent. So unless you happen to have this letter you speak off I cannot help you."

Valgoth knew that it was a bad idea to ask a guard, but he tried to make the best of his current situation. “Well, I regret to say that I no longer have the letter. I seem to have a habit of throwing away my letters. Usually I memorize them, so I normally have no reason to keep them. From what I remember, it looked like it was written in a rush, so I figured it slipped his mind.” He explained to the guard.

"Well then, I'm sorry to say I cannot help you. I am not allowed to disclose the addresses of private citizens without proper proof of intentions. It is the law, and as a guard I must follow it. Good day citizen." The guard said before leaving to continue on with his patrols.

Valgoth thought for a moment. 'Well that was smart...' he thought to himself sarcastically. Valgoth continued to walk on looking and listening. He walked the streets slowly. As he did so, he wondered what the importance of his target was. Was this Cato of high political or economical importance? Or did someone want him dead for personal reasons? Answers to these questions would be useful in finding the target.
Valgoth found a tavern while walking the streets. He decided to go ahead and take a rest there. He interred through the door and closed it behind him. He glanced around with his eyes. After a moment he took a seat in one of the corners. He had a few coins from pick pocketing the merchants the other day, so he could get something to eat if someone came to wait on him. He was a slight bit hungry anyways. He had enough for a drink and maybe two loafs of bread.

As Valgoth sat down, an Umano bartender walked up to him from his side of the counter. He leaned over a bit before talking.
"So, what can I get you today sir. Just got a new shipment of venison in this morning. It's pretty fresh as far as I can tell."

Valgoth looked up at the bartender. "I'd like a loaf of bread and some mead, if you don't mind." Valgoth said, giving the bartender the correct amount of money. He knew how much the meal would cost, because that was what he would always order when he went to a tavern to eat.

"Coming right up." The bartender replied as he headed over to the shelves behind him, pulling out a piece of bread before handing it over to the patron. He then grabbed a jug and a mug before emptying out the mead that was in the jug. Soon a tall glass of mead was done, and he slide it down to Valgoth.
"So then, you a mage or something. Thats about the only people I've seen with robes that fancy."

Valgoth looked up at the bartender. “I suppose you could say that. I study one of the schools of magic, Alternation. If find it rather fascinating, but I’m mostly an adventurer. Every now and then I’ll go and raid a cave or an old fort and sell what I find.” He told the bartender. This was true he would raid bandit or marauder caves to practice assassinating them.
Valgoth noticed that the bartender never received his payment. “Here is the payment.” He said, holding the money out to the bartender.

"Oh, an adventurer then." The bartender said a he grabbed the money, placing it in a safe box.
"We get alot of those around here. Being one of the big cities, it's an easy place to get rid of loot. Though usually they don't end up in a tavern in this district. They tend to hang out in the taverns in the markets. Cheaper, and probably more fun if the right crowds in. But I'm just ranting, and you probably need to get on with your meal."
