The Abatar are a human race located in the southeastern part of the continent and reside mostly on the coast (Kingdom of Abatar). While the coastal parts of the area are similar in climate to the region where the Umano live, the interior is more desert like. This has caused a disparity in culture, though physical looks are similar. Body build is usually much more slender than most races, but endurance tends to be very high for those living in the interior. Hair and eye color tends to be browns and blacks while skin color tends to be medium-light brown.
Abatar, once being part of the Umano Empire, follows many of same political principles, at least on the coast. Large, urban cities are the center of political power, though competition among them occasionally causes tensions. The military is centralized, but it is small in size and is supplemented by the various cities. Talk of independence is not uncommon, but national pride has for the most part kept it at a minimum. It is, however, generally accepted each city basically handles its own affair. The interior desert region is home to nomadic tribes that sometimes come into conflict with the cities.
As mentioned, the coastal Abatar tend to be very similar to the Umano in culture. They are very urbanized and trade focused. Unlike the Umano, however, they have not been highly pressured into military preparedness. The police is not as active either, and corruption isn’t unknown. Thievery is much more common than not. In an interesting twist, however, the people are also much more mystical than the other human races. They only had contact with Dark Elves, and that contact was relatively harmless. This allowed for an inflow of the knowledge of magic, and it has been incorporated into the culture. Even the nomads have taken this up to some degree. In general, though, the nomads more similar to the Chelovek than to the Umano in that they focus a lot on community instead of wealth.
