Mythic Era
c.5000 ME: According to legend, Veryema and Barim gain self-awareness in the void that was Chaos, and the universe begins. The world is created, and is named Solum for reasons that modern scholars are unaware of.
c.4500 ME: Veryema creates the High Elves to populate the world, and places them on an island in the north. This time is considered the “Golden Age” by the High Elves, and many of the early High Elves were deemed ‘gods’ by Veryema, creating the Divinas.
c.3000 ME: Barim, jealous of the success of the High Elves, creates Man in the southern part of the Continent. Using them as a base, he creates the Antivas directly from the remaining Chaos, which scholars believe is the reason behind their chaotic behavior. Their influence prevents the unification of Man, who will remain contained where they are.
c.2500 ME: The “Golden Age” ends as the Antivas influence spreads throughout the world. A Dark Age ensues, and the homeland of the High Elves remains bitter and divided.
c.57 ME: The Dark Age ends as the legendary hero Volanare Mercia reunites the High Elves, forming the basis of government and magic that still exists to this very day. The most famous of these is the Mages Guild. Establishes the city of Gathewold.
c.18 EE: With Volanare’s death, a new king is declared. However, his young age prevents him from taking the throne, and the kingdom is relatively stagnant under the regency.
Elven Era
0 EE: The regency ends upon the eighteenth birthday of Rumare. He pledges to expand the influence of the High Elves over the entire world. Elven historians place it as the beginning of the calendar of history.
5 EE: Elven expedition to nearby island nets access to large amounts of wood, and construction begins on a large fleet to head to mainland. City of Ereardale is established to coordinate construction.
10 EE: The unification of man begins as the chief of the Umano tribe, Tiberium, begins to gain allegiance of nearby tribes. His central city is Antigus, which remains the capital of the Umano Empire.
27 EE: Construction of naval fleet ends, and expeditions are sent to explore the mainland. The area where they land is dubbed Hingmoor, which remains one of the largest cities of the Kingdoms of Mercia.
55 EE: Tiberium dies, but leaves behind a legacy of a united race of Man that is dubbed as the Umano. Successors decide to not risk it from falling apart, and refuse to go beyond the southern half of the peninsula.
63 EE: Rumare dies, and exploration of the mainland begins to dwindle as interest is lost. The city of Hingmoor, and its surrounding lands, remain a permanent part of the Kingdoms of Mercia.
207 EE: An attempted usurpation by Ciadara, leader of a zealous group of religious cultists, causes a mass banishment of all involved. This group becomes the descendants of the modern Dark Elves.
208 EE: City of Ciadara is founded by banished High Elves.
213 EE: After the banishment of the cultists, interest is renewed amongst High Elves for the exploration of the mainland. Plans are made for another expedition, but are put on hold as no leader could be found to lead it.
228 EE: The expedition begins after naval captain Aldari is chosen to lead it. In the south, Arenar Umano decides to continue the expansion that had begun long ago, but logistical problems occur when attempts are made to cross the mountains. Scouts are sent to investigate the region instead.
240 EE: Umano scouts and Aldari’s expedition meets, creating first contact between Elves and Man. Hostilities ensue, and the Umano scouts are defeated. Aldari sends for request to investigate. Request is denied, and Aldari is recalled. The expedition is turned into a defense force.
264 EE: Aldari dies, and Arenar Umano dies as well, ending expansion in both areas. Aldari’s records of the expedition are lost.
532 EE: Descendants of Ciadara’s original cult have prospered, and by this point have successfully conquered the southern region of Iberus. The city of Salcalda is founded in honor of their leader of the same name.
573 EE: The king of the Umanos dies and no heir is left to take the throne. Royal intrigue and infighting allows for the kingdom to begin to decline, leaving the northern regions a haven for thieves and bandits.
576 EE: Aldari’s records of the expedition are found by his descendants in the Mages Guild archives, and are republished. Demand for another expedition is high, but is smothered by problems related to a famine.
595 EE: The Renard are created through the intervention of Lares.
620 EE: High Elves release another expedition into what is now High Wood, and create colonies on the northern half. Expansion slows down as of this point.
630 EE: Renewal of Umano strength under Cocius Umano allows the regaining of control of the northern regions of the kingdom. The Renard, at this point a small tribe, migrate to the west and found the city of Llindove.
720 EE: Dark Elves take bandit stronghold of Margala, and begin expeditions to the north. They are stopped, however, by the mountains, and are content to keep their borders as they are.
734 EE: High Elf leader Lorundil begins to expand High Elf eastwards. Growth is slowed tremendously by the thickness of the woods.
745 EE: High Elf scouts stumble into Umano territory, and are captured. Tensions rise, but eventually they are released. While captured, they are interrogated, and stories of the High Elf exploits bring outrage among Umano. They begin to plan expeditions to appease outrage.
750 EE: A small fleet is sent out by the Umano to explore the world, but are never heard from again.
753 EE: The ‘lost’ Umano expedition hits landfall in the northern regions of the world. The descendants of this expedition become the Chelovek. The area they land in is named Horivick.
769 EE: Lorundil dies, but unlike the past, High Elves continue to progress towards the borders of what is now Lombarwood. The settlement of Lerwood is founded.
850 EE: The Volk are created from the wolves of the Sibera region. They hand the High Elves the first major defeat that they have ever suffered. The Elven expeditions end, and they begin to focus on securing their lands. The Elven Empire is officially declared. City of Rupovic founded.
