The Volk are a wolf-like beast race that lives in the north-eastern part of the world (Sibera). The western part of the region is similar to that of the Cheloveks and the Wood Elves in that it is cold and heavily forested. Further east, however, the terrain turns from forest to steppes and tundra with lightly forested areas. The Volk, being anthropomorphic wolves, generally have brown and black colored fur and are lean and muscled in body shape. They are capable of running on both four and two legs.
Being related to wolves, the Volk base some part of their political system on wolf-pack relations. There are many small kingdoms in existence, ruled by a dominant pair of wolves that are usually the oldest Volks in the kingdom. A strict caste system tends to be found within these kingdoms, though younger Volk are known to attempt to leave and found their own kingdoms. This is relatively easy since the Volk have the largest territory claims of any other race.
The strict caste systems found within the Volk cause many Volk to be rather resistant to change since their positions in life are all they have ever known. Living under a pair of dominant wolves has also tended to make older Volks a bit more likely to be followers then leaders. Younger Volk are more likely to be independent, as they have not become accustomed to life under the system. A sense of community also exists among them, and the Volk are very protective of their fellow members and are usually not trusting of outsiders. They have tendencies to dislike the Chelovek due to past conflict with them.
Volk receive:
+5 Strength
+5 Hand-to-Hand
Resistance to frost
